Infomarkers Eindhoven Design District
Eindhoven is the city of technology, knowledge, and design. While design becomes most evident during Dutch Design Week, it isn’t confined to studios—design is everywhere, including public spaces. A striking "family" of information markers now makes design in Eindhoven even more visible and accessible year-round. Come see for yourself!
Pretty Plastic
In 2016 presenteerde start-up Pretty Plastic tijdens Dutch Design Week zijn eerste plastic geveltegel. Wat begon vanuit frustratie over de grote hoeveelheid plastic afval, vind je nu op gevels van gebouwen door heel Europa én op het Franse eiland Mayotte. Inmiddels produceert Pretty Plastic de tegels met tweedehands pvc – een zeer moeilijk te recyclen materiaal. Ook op de gevel van het vernieuwde zwembad de Tongelreep in Eindhoven vind je ze terug. Monteurs schroefden hier ruim dertigduizend Pretty Plastic-tegels vast.
